About the Program
Morningside Music Bridge (MMB) invites violinists, violists, cellists, pianists, and creators between the ages of 12 and 18 for a unique scholarship learning experience. Students from all countries are eligible and considered on an equal basis. Acceptance to the program is based strictly on talent.

Eligibility
In order to be considered to the Morningside Music Bridge program, you must:
- Be between the ages of 12 and 18 as of the first day of the program
- Must be available to attend for the entire duration of the program

Application Requirements
Please submit the requirements listed with your application to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Admissions decisions are made based solely on your video submissions. Repertoire choices should show the applicants range technically and musically.
Each submission must be clearly labelled with the name of the applicant and of the performing piece.
Piano
- Complete Classical Sonata (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert)
- Two contrasting works from stylistic periods other than the Classical period. Must be by different composers of the candidate’s choice from the standard Baroque, Romantic, 20th or 21st Century repertoire. Solo works only, concerted works not permitted. One movement is sufficient if the work is multi-movement.
Strings - Cello and Viola
- One movement of a standard Classical, Romantic, 20th Century or Contemporary concerto
- Two contrasting works by different composers of the candidate's choice from the standard Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th or 21st Century Repertoire. One movement is sufficient if the work is multi-movement. Your two contrasting works must be from a different style period than your concerto.
Selections may be played with or without accompaniment.
Strings - Violin
- One movement of a classical sonata
- One movement of a standard Classical, Romantic, 20th Century or Contemporary concerto
- One contrasting work by a different composer of the candidate's choice from the standard Baroque, Romantic, 20th or 21st Century Repertoire. One movement is sufficient if the work is multi-movement. Your contrasting work must be from a different style period than your concerto.
Selections may be played with or without accompaniment.
Application Procedure
All interested applicants must submit an online application, including all requirements listed below, through Acceptd Inc (external audition website) by the deadline date.
While the reviewing panel does not expect professional level production quality, it is important that your materials are of good video quality and audio quality and clearly displaying the hands and face of the applicant.
The recordings should be recent (within six months) and without video or audio editing and be taken from one single-camera perspective. Edited performances will not be considered.
The completed on-line application will require the following:
- the non-refundable application fee ($70 USD). Payment of fee is the last step in your on-line application process on Acceptd
- a separate video file for each performance piece - please refer to application requirements
- a list of the applicant’s repertoire studied (solo, chamber music and orchestra) from the previous and current year. (recommend to submit your list as a word or pdf document)
- additional information - a short biography including solo performance experience, orchestra experience and any significant accomplishments (musical and non-musical)
You may save and return to your application until you are ready to submit it. Each submission must be clearly labelled with the name of the applicant and of the performing piece.
