Creative Residency for an emerging composer, improvisor, visual artist, sculptor, videographer, photographer, writer or interdisciplinary artist. We are always looking for young creators (12 – 18) to bring their projects to Morningside Music Bridge.
Scholarship based. Talent is the only criteria to select participants. Participants accepted are admitted on full scholarship - find details under Apply.
Eligibility
In order to be considered to the Morningside Music Bridge program, you must:
- Be between the ages of 12 and 18 as of the first day of the program
- Must be available to attend for the entire duration of the program.*

Are you an emerging composer, improvisor, visual artist, sculptor, videographer, photographer, writer, or interdisciplinary artist? Do you have an idea for a Creative Project that Morningside Music Bridge can help you realize? We are always looking for young creators (12 – 18) to bring their projects to Morningside Music Bridge. We will provide travel, room and board, creative support, and any necessary assistance in mounting the project to the individual submitting a successful proposal.
It could be workshopping and performing a new composition, executing a documentary film project, creating a non-musical work that comments on, or interacts with, our musical performance. Or even something completely off our radar. Feel free to make us stretch our brains. Whatever your discipline – the project should link to Morningside Music Bridge’s values, goals, and our talent community. We will work with the creator to identify and engage specialized support (a teacher, mentor, advisor) as necessary.
Search our website for information about the program, for past performances and come to us with an outline of your most creative idea.
Once the project for the summer is identified we will jointly plan how best to facilitate its completion and presentation within the parameters of the Morningside Music Bridge Program.

* Participants must be available to attend for the full duration of the program. Morningside Music Bridge is one of the very few full scholarship programs available to Emerging Artists 18 years old or younger and demand for spots in the program is extremely competitive. In fairness to the numerous outstanding young musicians who we are not able to accept each year, students who are accepted must commit to attending the entire 4-week program. Should you withdraw from the program at any time after April 1 (particularly to attend a music competition) you will be required to refund any travel expenses incurred by MMB that are non-refundable.
Participants are encouraged to reside on-campus - see section regarding accommodation. Recreational day trips will include experiencing Boston's rich history and sights.
