Łukasz Byrdy
Academy of Music in Poznan
A graduate of Universität der Künste in Berlin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, polish pianist Lukasz Byrdy is a prizewinner of over 20 international piano competitions.
In 2015 he has reached II round of the XVII International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and in 2021 has been chosen as one of the Semifinalists of prestigious Honens International Piano Competition in Calgary.
He has received scholarships to music courses in Calgary (Morningside Music Bridge 2010 and 2011) and Aspen (Music Festival, 2012).
Lukasz gave concerts on EXPO in Dubai (UAE, 2021) and Milan (Italy, 2015), "Chopin and His Europe" festival in Warsaw, International Paderewski Festival in Warsaw and "Chopin à Paris" festival in Paris as well as on festivals in Chengdu, Moscow, Duszniki-Zdroj and in the Young Talents cycle of concerts organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. In Poland Lukasz performed in almost all philharmonic halls, Fryderyk Chopin’s birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, Polish Radio’s Concert Studio in Warsaw, Royal Castle and the Royal Lazienki Park in Warsaw and Polish Radio’s National Orchestra Concert Hall.
Besides Poland he gave concerts in the USA, Canada, China, UAE, Russia, Austria, France, Norway, Italy, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta and Germany.
Lukasz has been awarded scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Prime Minister of Poland . In 2017 his first CD featuring Chopin's and Mozart's concertos in chamber version, recorded together with Altra Volta string quartet was released.
In 2018 he joined the piano faculty of Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan.
