Łukasz Byrdy stands among the most distinctive pianists of his generation — a laureate of over twenty international competitions, performing for more than a decade on some of the world’s most prestigious stages across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. His artistry has earned acclaim from the jurors of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, as well as from audiences spanning Paris to Beijing.
A graduate of the Universität der Künste in Berlin and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, the Polish pianist has been awarded top prizes at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Beijing and the International Piano Competition in Hanover. He has also been recognized at competitions in Switzerland, Italy, Malta, Poland and in 2021 has been chosen as one of the Semifinalists of prestigious Honens International Piano Competition in Calgary.
He has appeared at world-renowned events such as EXPO 2020 in Dubai (UAE) and EXPO 2015 in Milan (Italy), as well as at prestigious festivals including Chopin and His Europe in Warsaw, the International Paderewski Festival, Chopin à Paris, Chopin au jardin in Paris, the Christopher Festival in Vilnius and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Among his many artistic engagements, he has also performed at acclaimed festivals in Chengdu, Moscow, Duszniki-Zdrój and in the distinguished Young Talents concert series organized by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
In his native Poland, Byrdy has performed in nearly all of the country’s major philharmonic halls, as well as at historically and culturally significant venues such as Fryderyk Chopin’s birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the Royal Castle and the Royal Łazienki Park and the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio.
Internationally, his concert engagements have taken him across North America, Europe, and Asia, with performances in the United States, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Austria, France, Norway, Italy, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, and Germany.
His performances have been broadcast by Polish Radio and Television, Lithuanian National Radio and Television, China Central Television (CCTV), and Sichuan Radio and Television.
In 2017 he released his debut album featuring piano concertos by Fryderyk Chopin and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Łukasz Byrdy is a member of the Piano Department at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he earned his Doctor of Arts degree in 2024.
