Eyal Allen is a seventeen year old violist living in Philadelphia PA. Eyal began his musical studies on the violin at age seven, then switched to viola at sixteen. He made his debut as a soloist at age eleven with the Rehovot Youth Orchestra and has since returned to perform as a soloist with the ensemble on numerous occasions. In past summers Eyal has taken part in Morningside Music Bridge, Yellow Barn Summer Festival, Keshet Eilon Seminar, Apple Hill, Point CounterPoint, and the Philadelphia International Music Festival, where he won first place in the senior division of the Concerto Competition.

Eyal has received recognition from the Ministry of Education of Israel and is involved with the Jerusalem Music Center’s program for gifted young musicians. He is a scholarship recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation and a recipient of the Springboard Grant from the Bruce Montgomery Foundation. In addition, Eyal participates in the Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth (PMAY) , a pathways program.

A senior at Friends Select School in Philadelphia, Eyal studies with Kerri Ryan of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He previously studied violin with Kimberly Fisher. Eyal performs with the Youth Chamber Orchestra at Temple Music Prep and the Huxsoll Quartet, finalists in the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition.
